Word processing is like using your computer as a typewriter but with the convenience of being able to delete words and make spelling corrections and the like you'll need a special program to do word processing such as Microsoft Word there's a very basic one built in to windows called Wordpad

Picking up a pencil or pen and committing words to
paper! Of course you can also use a computer, PDA,
mobile phone ( text ) or an electronic typewriter to help you with this task!

The processing of words...A typewriter on a computer screen. They can be MsWord, MsWorks, Corel Suite, WordPerfect......and so on.
