that all depends on the baby. Mine woke up every two hours all day and night- so around 4 times or more in an 8 hour period. My son now at 16 months old still wakes up twice a night or more. It really just depends on the baby- i've there are some that start sleeping all night at 3 months.... they must be lucky! if you have/are having a baby... i wish you the best and that it will sleep all night for you!

I would get my daughter down for the night at 10 ish , and she would sleep until 4:30-5:00 am from about 3 weeks old on. Before that she got up usually 1 time, a few times 2. I am not a mom that wakes the baby on a schudle to feed them, When they are hungry and let you know. Dr said that was very true.

But my children are happy and healthy, Son is 15, daughter is 6 and pregnant again.

I started doing this because My grand mother came in to see my baby when he was born. ( my first child) I went to wake him to feed him, and my Gram said what are you doing? I said its time for him to eat ! She said "you never wake a sleeping baby just to feed them" Unless its been a long time or they are sick.

I got lucky twice, im sure this baby will be the one that will be up and down all night lol

depends on the new born! Some sleep through, some get hungry often, some cry when they get even a tiny bit wet, so some sleep through, and sopme wake every hour! Some comfort can be taken from the fact that they all sleep through eventually. Don't let your newborn sleep for more than 6 hours without feeding, as they might need feeding and jaundice or somethign will stop them waking often enough

Ir really depends on the baby, if it's a preemie, has medical problems, is a colic baby. Usually a normal baby will get lots of rest the first few nights, then it will feed more often. About every 4 hours the first few nights, then after about every 2 hours. If you get your child into a good pattern or schedule you can rid yourself of those nasty sleepless nights. I had both my children sleeping through the night by 1 1/2 months.

If I remember rightly my little girl used to wake every 2-4 hours. Although I do remember my friend telling me that her baby was going down early and sleeping through the night, and she had to wake her up every few hours to get some milk into her. I guess each baby is different.

really depends on the baby they can sleep so different some every 4 hours or every 5 some longer i prefer to have a wake up at least once rather than a sleep right through as you get panics setting in .

that all depends on the baby really, they say averagely that a baby will wake every 4 hours but each baby is different - my son used to go every 2 - 3 hours but my daughter will go 6 hours

a new born baby wakes up every 2 or three hours every night

this is different depending on the baby and also on how quickly you establish a routine. some babies wake up only for feeds and to get changed. feeds are every four hours and changes depend once again on the baby. others are awake all day and all night. some sleep all day and stay awake at night. some sleep throughout the night (like my son. yay me! im lucky i know)
