While visiting some webpages sometimes I am redirected to another webpage "myfamily.com" or "askmysite.com".Automatically the string "/isapi.dll?c=home&htx=loginfrontmember" gets added to the website url that I type & myfamily.com site opens. But askmysite.com site opens up completely replacing the url I type. This happens while vising some websites & sometimes not always. It happens with some good & reputed websites so I am sure there is no problem with the sites I visit. Then what could be the problem? Please help me!!!

(1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Your PC is infected with a browser hijacker.

This term covers a range of malicious software. The most generally accepted description for browser hijacking software is external code that changes your Internet Explorer settings. Generally your home page will be changed and new favourites will be added that point to sites of dubious content. In most cases, the hijacker will have made registry changes to your system, causing the home page to revert back to the unwanted destination even if you change it manually.

Use these scans to remove it.

All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free. After you install any of them, make sure you update them to get the full affect.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

I merely d/l the Kerio Firewall-i love it! that is beats the tar out of homestead windows firewall. i replaced into at one time utilising the firewall equipped into my Iolo anti-virus, besides the undeniable fact that it replaced into merely too, too complicated. I have "beefy protection", as one tech advised me, yet this Kerio is an outstanding addition. i'm no longer a lot for undercover agent-bot (had it), it replaced into giving me fairly some pretend positives and it replaced into also interpreting my SpyOnThis as being a difficulty-that is not-that is anti-undercover agent ware scanner/remover. on the undercover agent-bot I had to positioned each little thing back in that it deleted as there have been some issues that were valid purposes and Spybot disabled some significant issues. I then cleared this technique out, rebooted, and ran my SpyOnThis. Browser hijackers are insidious and nasty. I once had to thoroughly fix my gadget to production unit because of one (this replaced into before I had the SpyOnThis. It kept replicating itself interior of my gadget, even on deletion. i might want to discover it on the HiJackThis log, yet couldn't each of the aspects on my gadget; trust me, i tried. because I were given the SOT, it eliminates each little thing, completely and thoroughly. the purely prob with SOT is that ya might want to pay for it. Oh properly, it replaced into worth it.

You may not have a problem. Some sites do exactly what you describe and that is normal.

But just to be safe, install tools that can track down spyware, adware, malware, and the like (e.g. Spybot Search & Destroy at http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html).

It's simple: don't visit those webpages again. What webpages were they anyway? Just don't visit them.
