Not a chance. Apple has only one really good thing that stands out... and that's support. The rest is mostly a personal point of view - empirically it's the same.

well sure you do have a point here about the price thing, but ill list you some ofthe features that makes apple what they are, but before i do we have to be clear about the defrence between an apple G5 and an imac. cus the main price defrence is in the G series and not in the imac cuz the later has barley a price defrence with the normal laptops.

1- system stability
2- high level of speed and proccessing power
3- compatibilty with printing equpments like the CTP digital print and evne normal film printing and color seperation.
4- ease to maintaine.
5- secure.

i would say that most of the G series users are proffesional media production company. i rarley found a personal G5 user. Best of luck

Well people who say they are more pricey are ignorant. These people see a dell commercial selling a computer for $399 and think its great computer that will last them a long time. WRONG. you get what you pay for. This goes for both Apple and PC. The following are links to an Apple Macbook and a Sony Vaio laptop both with matching specs. And wow will ya look at that the when upgrade the processor to a 2.0 GHz the Sony is $500 more than the apple. Unless you do nothing but make spreadsheets and server maintenance then you will realize the potential for an Apple in your home. I will not fight the Mac/ PC for the office battle but hands down an Apple is far superior for an at home computer. Especially if you have kids

Everything about them is great and are worth the extra bucks to those that need or appreciate the power and performance offered in a great package of hardware and software with great support too.
Buy what ever you like or suits you-I got no problem with that.

Apple is the best. Be it in quality, delivery or performance, and not to mention after-sales service and support.

in a few words the point is:
what they offer is ahead of time compared to wintel (from hardware reliability to software productivity, friendliness of use and efficiency)

I could not afford them Macs anymore and, believe me, it is a real loss for my job.
