Boston is one of the safest major cities in the country, statistically, and Back Bay is probably the safest part of the city. It's also the most expensive, but it's very safe.

The Back Bay is generally considered a safe area. I mean, I wouldn't down dark alleys in scanty clothing at 3 in the morning, but hopefully you're not planning to do that.

Oh Please! Boston is one of the safest large cities to reside in in all the United States!
Sure, Boston has its problems, and you need to be cautious about your surroundings, but you are relatively safe.
As in any city, don't walk the streets alone after dark, don't leave your doors open, don't flash your cash around, no neon signs over your apartment flashing "I'M NOT HOME, KEY UNDER MAT"
Common sense is all you will need.

Yea Boston is safe, but has crime just like any other city... Take normal precautions and you should be fine. Its not near as bad as a lot of places in the US like LA, Detroit, NYC etc.

ima b strat wit chu da people sayin dat boston is safe r da people hu liv in da suburbs in mass but u need ta be careful fo real cas places lik roxbury n dorchester hav VERY high crime i wud no cas i liv in roxbury n thers drivebys almost evry day
