If you are using Firefox for your browser, then you can get extensions that will allow you to save the videos from YouTube and other sites. There might be similar extensions or add-ons for Internet Explorer 7, but I've never looked.

Yes, there are hundreds of free programs out there which let you download videos of youtube.
When you have them onto your computer just pop them onto your phone.. make sure the video isnt too big in size though because most phones dont have that much memory to hold it

To download videos from YouTube and any other site :
Get Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-us/firefox/...
And then install the Download Helper extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3006/... or this one Video Downloader https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390...
It works great for me.
Since the videos are in the .flv format you need to get a flv player. You can get a very good one (and completely free ) here http://www.download.com/flv-player/3000-...
If you want to convert them into another format ( mobile phone, iPods, psp, wmv, mp4...and anything else) use this awesome free program called Super http://www.erightsoft.com/super.html...
Also you can use this site http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php... and copy/paste the url's from the page with the video there but personally I'd recommend using Firefox
Firefox is the best !!!
And for movies and anything else use http://www.torrentportal.com/ and http://www.bittorrent.com/ and http://www.torrentspy.com/
To download from this site you need a torrent program like these :
BitComet http://www.bitcomet.com/ or
Azureus http://azureus.sourceforge.net/... or
uTorrent http://www.utorrent.com/download.php

you can if you have something like VLC to play them. They are all in FLV format, but there are several extensions for Firefox that will allow you to download them with like... 3 clicks. Check http://addons.mozilla.org
