Naruto Shippuuden - is it the sequel (2nd part) of anime Naruto?

Question

I found out in Narutofan.com that Naruto had already ended in episode 220. And there are Naruto Shippuuden which is said to be the second part or something like that... http://www.narutofan.com/

Does that mean it is some sort of the sequel for Naruto (what happen after anime Naruto), or is it just another different story but still revolves around Naruto (by that I mean many old characters die/don't exist in the story and lots of new characters appearead and it's totally about different stories, themes and mission)?

Erm... did any character died in Naruto... I mean the good guys like Kakashi, Sasuke, Jiraiya, Gaara, Tsunade... and others? Did any of them died?

yes, it is the sequel of the popular Naruto Anime Series, whats the difference you may ask.. Well its actually different in a way that all characters matured in their very own way (powers, clothing, actions, goals, looks, , relationships) not just that, all fillers are gone and a new storyline will unfold starting from the invasion of the AKATSUKI on the upcoming Chunin Exam.. another viewpoint of the series is the introduction of what SASUKE has become.. and as far as what ive watched, i think Gaara too has a big role in this series..

After Sasuke left, Naruto then went off with Jiraiya, Naruto Part 1 pretty much end. Shippuuden is Naruto Part 2 which take place approximately 3 years later after Naruto came back after his training with Jiraiya. All the characters you know from the original Naruto are still there, just 3 years older, most of them should still look the same, except for Hinata, who actually looks the best now out of all the girls in my opinion.

Naruto shipuden is the second part of naruto which started after naruto left with jiraiya in the first part. And its the same thing just that his two years older, same characters some new introduced and NO, no one has died and its the same story only focusing on akatsuki alot this time

My first anime that I've watched is Naruto. At first, I mainly started watching it as I watched it on tv when I was like 7 and never got to finish it after the 50th episode or something and when I finished watching it when I was older I was hooked on anime. Anyways, you should start off with something like Naruto or a really popular highly rated anime. Right now I mostly watch Comedy/Romance anime like Kaichou Wa Maid- Sama, Special A, Ouran HighSch., The Wallflower, Lovely Complex ect...Good Luck :P Oh, I also watched pokemon as a kid but mostly forgot about 80% of it. I might go and re-watch it too. One more thing, I'd suggest watching subbed anime as you can hear the language and it's just more awesome IMO.

Naruto shippuuden is just the continuation but they chose to give it a subtitle in order for the time skip to be noticed. it is 2 and a half years later. everyone has changed signifigently out of the central 15 genin, including things such as (spoiler) everyone is a chuunin minus gaara, and neji who have become kazekage and a jonin. The focus of the series is still trying to get sauske back but now atuski has been featured more with all but 2 members appearing.

i'm not sure if i would call it a sequel, because theoretically, in the manga, it's called Part 2, and it's continued in the same manga series.

Anime producers gave Part 2 a name: Shippuuden / Hurricane Chronicles.

There's a 2.5 year timeskip between part 1 and part 2. No one dies in between, manga simply skipped the 2.5 years while Naruto went away to train with Jiraiya.

its a sequal where they go after sasuke. in the first episode is shows wats going to happen when they find sasuke but after that it goes back when he returns to the village
