A very excellent question that more people should ask, for the fear of death often leads to a very timid, uncourageous, and unfulfilling life.

Most ordinary people think there is only one universe. But many scientists who study the universe think there is more than 1 universe - that there are multiverses.

Why is there a discrepancy? Because most ordinary people don't spend their time studying the universe. They just see this 1 universe, think about it for a few seconds, and make up their minds that there is only 1 universe.

If you fear death, my advice is to research death. There are many resources online or in the library. You can start with the subject of Near Death Experiences (NDEs). Read a lot of personal accounts - there are tons. You may discover and decide that life after death is a possibility - or even a certainty.

People fear death because currently, they believe that there is nothing after death. They see people die who don't come back to life again, as far as their eyes can tell - which, by the way, can only see 5% of the spectrum. So then everybody assumes that that there is no afterlife. They jump to conclusions without having done any of their own homework/research on the subject.

And then they build and plan their whole lives around these conclusions and assumptions.

But if people did their own research, perhaps they would come to different conclusions - and a different way of living their lives.

By realizing that death doesn't hurt. You are fearing the wrong thing here. Dying hurts, but death doesn't. Pain messages cannot be sent to the brain without electrical activity, which doesn't occur after death. You might also consider religious beliefs when you try to determine why you fear death. Do you believe in an afterlife? That may be the answer to your problem. Personally I believe that once it's done, it's done, and all you get is a nothingness that you're not aware of. But if you believe in an afterlife, perhaps you should consider whatever rebirth your religion allows, so you don't fear a painful afterlife.

Ask yourself when, where, how the fear of death came to you in the first place. Is it a generalized (non-specific) fear? Or is it grounded on anything like a disease that is predicted to take your life soon?

Those are starting markers that have to be dealt with before any sensible person should attempt an answer for you. Solid answers await once those questions are answered.

Embrace death as the cycle of life. Instead of fearing the uncertainty that goes with death, live your life to the fullest. Leave a legacy, you wont have time to fear death. We all die!

Get so involved in living that death will catch you unawares. There's a whole big universe here - explore it, change it, study it, live it, enjoy it, save it. There is so much living to do - do that and your fear of death will vanish.
