When we stand under high tension wires. We feel some what pull upwards and sometimes we can see small birds stick to the high tension wires. Why is that so?

It is due to the high amount of electricity. Our hair, feathers, nails, claws, etc. has a protein (Keratin) which gets attracted to the electric current, thereby creating static electricity.
