ok, been monitored at the hospital now and they've confirmed that it was not my waters breaking, it was the start of a 'show' whoch apparently coulb be watery. They also saw contractions every 10 mins, so they sent me home again and said 'see you tonight or in a few days'. My contractions has been regular for the last 8hrs..they do come with pains, though still mild ones. Has anyone experienced this ?

It could just be vaginal discharge - I had an increase in discharge towards the end of my pregnancy.

When my waters went they didn't go with a gush but they just kept on and on leaking and there was much more than the discharge! They leaked for about 12 hours!!

My waters started leaking at 10am and the contractions didn't really start until 2pm. They didn't get regular until about 5pm and from then on they were really painful and very strong. My baby was born at half part midnight.

Don't be embarrased for calling the midwife. No question is a dumb one.

Sounds to me like it could be your water. Sometimes your water just gushes like a waterfall, but sometimes it leaks for days. No matter how it happens, it's still your water breaking. Time your contractions (cause once water breaks they come stronger and faster) and get your self to the hospital when you feel like you need to go. Giving birth could take a long time or no time at all. Just trust your instincts and don't ever feel embarrased to ask a question.

Good luck and congrats!

Yes, it sounds like you are having a gradual leaking away of waters. I think you should ring the maternity unit now.If you don't go into labour in the next few hours, they may ask you to come in for observation;your baby is more prone to develop infection in the womb, or get into distress if your waters have gone and nothing else is happening.

This happened to me , i felt a very slight pop sensation (i was in bed) i stood up and i was trickling , not a gush we all imagine . It was 4am at the time so i cleaned myself up tried to get another couple of hours sleep (my baby was active so i was relaxed ) . I got up took the others to school , came home , phoned the hospital to tell what happened and they said to go in as i was 2 weeks early just for a check up , on the way the contractions started . During all this time i was still constantly trickling .. So i n answer to your question yes i think your baby is on his way :)

Congratulations !!

call your midwife or materntiy unit for advice asap. it may well be your waters and once they have broken you have 24 hours in which labour ideally needs to start properly as you can be at risk of infection. good luck

It sounds as if you are leaking water. If this is the case, you should go get checked at the hospital. They can do a quick test to see if it is infact your water. Once it breaks, or leaks.. you're at risk for infections.

as soon as you start feeling the strong pains, ring hostpital, when my waters broke nurses told me to put a pad on. I was fuming but contractions started stright after. Your contractions should start very soon if your waters have just broke.
