Hi, I'm trying to work out what t-shirt, (blouse, top) size I will be after my op. I'm a size 10-12 waist but at the minute wear 14-16 tops because of my 34GG's (Yeah, I know!!!!). My surgeon hopes to get me down to a 34C-ish so I wanted to get a couple of nice comfy tops for afterwards, Anyone out there who is a 34C? What top size do you wear?

Thanks in advance xxxx

Congrats!

Well before surgery I was an XL, and I still am an XL because of my stomach.

I would just go with the size you currently have until after surgery, because you would still be swollen and bruised and a little more room to move in the top area is a good thing.

I had breast reduction surgery about 6 months ago. Here's the thing, your doctor will try his/her best to make you that C cup size that you want, but you really won't know what shirt (or bra size, for that matter) you will finally be until several months after surgery.

Immediately after surgery, your breasts will be very boxy looking. You'll probably think that they took way too much off (at least I did). As time progresses, things kind of shape up and start looking normal again, and you get to your final size...but it takes a while.

However, you can estimate your shirt size by figuring out how many inches smaller your desired chest will be in circumference, and then consulting a sizing chart for one of your favorite brands. For example, a 34 C is going to be 37-38 inches around at the fullest part of the bust, so you could then find the corresponding size for that.

I can recommend that you get some button down, zippered front type of shirts for immediately after the surgery. Lifting your arms over your head is torture. Definitely worth it for the result, but not fun. Although I wouldn't worry too much about what size they are, I'd just keep it comfy for the first week or so post-surgery.

You will love this surgery...I know I did!

I would say you will be the same as for your waist a 10-12. Buy something like a blouse first or something that would be loose fitting so you get an idea for yourself. Since I had an op to go larger you will find that you will probably need something of a loose fit anyway till the swelling goes down and the soreness goes away. Good luck.

Why not wait until after the operation and then go and get tops to fit?

34GG? Wow!
