You are going to want to enable "Content Advisor" in Internet Explorer. The links below should help you get started:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/security/contentadv/config.mspx

Keep in mind that there are a lot of hits when doing a search to disable Content Advisor without knowing the administrator password. So if your kids are determined, they can get around it with a little help searching on Google. However, you'll know they did when the password you set no longer works.

If they do manage to get around it, use a different method to block access. This link shows another way:

K9 Web protection will filter the content your children access. It's a great cyber nanny. The flexibility and range of control is excellent. It is free to individuals. You can donwload it at the link below:

It is also a good idea to make sure that safe search is turned on with any search engines you choose to allow your children to access. It's also always a good idea to make sure that they know that you are monitoring. I am relatively sure that K9 gives you a report of all the sites that are visited. It's a great tool. Good luck.

You can set the preferences on Google so adult content is blocked. Just click preferences next to search. You can also change the settings through the internet options on the tools menu of your browser.

Well, that's not an easy one...

If your kids want to see adult content, the only real way to stop this is to screen out all sites that end with .com, .org, and .net. Just allow them to go to edu, gov, and a few trusted sites.

Essentially, you will be allowing your kids to go to only sites explicitly allowed, kinda like only letting them watch educational programming...

Or, there are third-party programs like Net Nanny who operate in a manner similar to anti-virus companies. They release regular updates that blocks out the majority of adult and explicit content.

Hope that helps.

install some softwares that can prevent your kids from surfing inappropiate websites & images. if you're using a wireless router, you can adjust your router in 192.168.1.1 (not most of them use this IP address) & type the url with inappropiate stuff in the checkbox & your kids won't be able to surb them anymore
