We need to contact a mobile phone in Vitenam from Australia but dont know the area code to phone from oz mobile to vietnam mobile..anyone know?

It's easy. There are several different phone companies. Most common 090+++ ++++ and 091+++ ++++. Dial country code then number. (84)90+++ ++++ or (84)91+++ ++++ etc.

I'm in America and call my both of my wife's cell phone regularly (She travels often between Saigon and Hanoi). How you dial a cell phone in Vietnam depends on the LD servcies you will use and the cell phone service in Vietnam.
Vietnam's country code is 84
Cell phones USUALLY has a code of 9
To call most cell phones in Vietnam, I would dial from the US:
011 849 xxx-xxxx
or
011 840 9xxx-xxxx
There is a popular cell phone service called CityPhone that works only in the city it is designated for, and therefore will have a code for the respected city rather than the cell code of 9.
Saigon's city code is: 6
Hanoi's city code is 4
If you are calling a CityPhone in Saigon, I would dial:
011 846 xxx-xxxx
I don't use direct dial because the LD charges are outrageous. Rather, I use a calling card, which has their own format to place the call to Vietnam. The format is usually one of the latter I described.

A reverse cell phone lookup service I have used is http://reversephone.toptips.org
Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally don't provide anything interesting. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
The best thing is that you can get informations about anyone!!
