I can't get a validation code when I try to update. So I say forget it and just installed a Firefox browser and now I can get into secure pages and sign-in. So it was a browser problem. Should I and can I now get Internet Explorer 7? I have XP SP2. Any other tips for what I should do? Do I need my firewall turned on? I do run Ad-aware and SpyBot. I am a bad girl and let my anti-virus software expire though, so I need to fix that. What else should I do to it?

I think the problem is with your anti-virus program or with a program called Zone-Alarm, if you have installed it. Try disabling your anti-virus as well as Zone-Alarm & then logging into any site. Hopefully your problem will be solved. If it does, contact vendors of those programs for help on how to overcome it. If even this doesn't solve the problem, try re-installing your OS. A clean install would be preferable, directly from your CD.
