If a couple has sex around the time that the woman produces an egg (ovulation), the male reproductive cells, or sperm, can reach the female egg and fertilise it about 5-10 minutes after the man ejaculates.

If it is not quite ovulation time, but getting close to it, the sperm can travel up into the vagina and live in the small glands near the entrance of the uterus or in the Fallopian tubes for to 5-6 days. The egg itself lives for less than 24 hours after it is ovulated so sperm have to fertilise it during this time for a pregnancy to occur.

After it is fertilised the egg takes abbut 5-7 days to travel down the woman's Fallopian tube to the uterus and embed itself in the lining to start a pregnancy.

The first sign that most women get that they could be pregnant is that their period doesn't come at the expected time or is much lighter than usual. It's best to wait a couple of days to a week after a period is due to do a pregnancy test, because by then there is enough pregnancy hormone in the urine for the test to be reliable.

You can buy a pregnancy test that you do yourself at home from a supermarket or chemist, or you can see your doctor who will do the test on the spot, or sometimes send off a blood test if there is any doubt about the result. Some, but not all, women will get other symptoms which let them know they are pregnant - symptoms such as tiredness, nausea, breast tenderness or passing urine more often. These symptoms usually start about a week after the period is missed.

While many women find they get some mild lower abdominal discomfort during early prenancy as the uterus grows and stretches the surrounding support structures, more severe pain could be the first sign of an ectopic pregnancy (where the pregnancy grows outside the uterus), a possible early miscarriage, an ovarian cyst or even an infection. So any pain a woman experiences when pregnant, whether this happens during sex or not, should really be discussed with her doctor so that early treatment can be arranged if needed.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

We don't know the answer to that, you could be you could not be, what ever we say isn't going to make you any the wiser so I would wait until you are about 2 or 3 days late and then buy a test. I think First Response is a test you can get for early detection of pregnancy. If your pain gets severe go to the hospital or straight to your docs to rule out ectopic pregnancy.

u may be pregnant. signs of pregnancy include: pain in the lower back, pain in the lower stomach, areolas are dark on ur nipples (around the edges of ur nipples) , peeing non-stop, nausea and/or vomiting , food cravings, always being tired, weight gain, and maybe mood swings. so yes it could be possible. it usually takes 2-4 weeks to show a positive pregnancy test . it all depends when your body produces the hgc pregnancy hormone. if u take a test now and it come up negativem, you could still be bcuz it may be too early for the test to detect your hgc hormone. a blood test at the doctors may be accurate at this time, otherwise you could wait a couple more weeks and take an at-home test. good luck.

yes Its quite early to take the home pregnancy test. Chances are that u might be pregnant. Wait for a while before you take the tests or schedule a visit to the doctor.

The early pregnancy tests are designed to be taken in the first month. In your case it would benefit you to go and buy the EPT test and take it. This will put your mind at ease. At least you will know if you need to talk to the guy and your parents, or if this is just a false alarm.

they dont sound like pregnancy symptoms but do a test 4 days before your next period is due using either a first response test or a clear blue digital test, its better to check to be sure.
