first of all take backup of all your important data to CD/DVDs

then insert win98 Boot disk in CD/DVD drive and restart PC

Then by pressing DEL button while showing stsrtup info ( whr it shows info abt RAM , HDD ) enter in to BIOS setup.

Then change boot sequence to CDROM first of all

then save and exit the BIOS setup

then ur PC will boot in DOS mode

it will show ....
a:\>

Then format c drive using following command ..
format c: /s
it will confirm agian press Y and Enter

repeat this by changing Drive letter ... C to D , E, F ... till your Last drive letter (remove /s command)

i.e format D:
then format E:
then format F:

then insert windows installer disk and reboot
and follow the installation instructions on screen while Setup.

The easiest way, if you are using a windows OS, is to insert the Windows CD, reboot the computer from the CD and the option "Format and install Windows" will come up.

This is an ideal time to install one of the free operating systems. You can dual boot them with your current windows OS. Also once you install one of them you have access to over 5,000 free programs from the open source community. Get UBUNTU or XUBUNTU.
