First try the easy things, uninstall all the programs you haven't been using in a while and try defragmenting your discs. You can always check your task manager and see all the processes running and turn off the processes that aren't necessary.
If that doesn't help reboot.

some of the better ideas would be to run only the programs you want anything running on desktop is using RAM memory up. Less resources harder machine has to compute and longer it takes to display. You can reduce the resolution of screen to 256 color that will also free up memory.

itm is simple.first uninstal all programs that you are not using. and then check your docments saved to insure that there is no alrge space used on your computer then, check your had disc to make them at least with 1 or 2 gb free space. or try to skan 4 viruses. ok have a nice day. dont format your computer to avoid deliting all neccessary documents

The best way would be to reboot. I'm sure ur comp comes with recovery cd's (: Though, u have to save all ur important stuff as all ur data would be lost. The best part would be that ur comp will run alot faster! + all ur viruses would be eliminated! :-D I do it myself every couple of months :) Its abit of chore; re-installing everything but well worth as I dun have to put up with freezing!
