i want to start a small scale business so what are the steps relating to it

If it is trading business, start purchase and sale. In both case maintain an account and related documents such as bills, challan etc., to substantiate your activities. After 2 or 3 months
1. Apply for a trade licence.
2. Get Sales Tax Registration
3. When your incomes crosses more than tax bracket get PAN NO. not only on your company but also in your name.
In case you are going to start small scale manufacturing activities then apply for Trade Licence, get registered with Small Scale Industries department of your district (where you get lot of benefits such as Tax holidays etc.,)

This is what I did to start my small business. 1. Clean your pc and set up your desk for business. You will need folders, paper clips, postie notes, paper for fax, copy, scanner, pens, pencils, trash can,
2. Name your business. 3. Buy your business liecence. 4. Get a Tax Id number 5. Designate a phone line number to your business. 6. There are several sites to build your website for free. The one that has help me the most is Yahoo Bizz you can find it on your Yahoo Home Page.7. Make your self some business cards. 8.Go to your local chamber of commerce and ask for a free business list so you can send emails out about your business or you can use those addresses for an advertizing campange. I dont know what your product will be to sell but with a website people will find you (buyers and sellers alike. Best of luck to you.
