I hope I'm wrong but the younger generation seems to have no bounderies at all with what they find unacceptable. Whether it is behavior or humor. I would like to hear from one young person who still sets limits between good/evil, right/wrong, etc.
This Yahoo (question/answer) link below is a prime example:

Seriously, I'm praying someone can give me hope for the future children of tomorrow.

Grateful Dead, "what does a stupid picture with a stupid question to go with it mean to you?"
Since you feel there is no such thing as "sick humor." You know, comedies that joke about putting dogs in microwaves, etc. and you say that you're never offended by anything, you couldn't care less. What could I say that would make any difference? It would be a waste of time...

Smiling Sam- I agree with you.

Getto Fabulous & Unicycle Jazz - no matter what race you are, teenagers deserve respect and trust. Adults should always set a good example for their children, but unfortunately many don't.

Macabre Minion- Thank you for your input, it is refreshing to hear your views. I think videogames, violence, t.v., etc. do contribute to the problem but parental upbringing is most important and if the child has none it is disasterous.

Gwen S, Scytherbu..., Katies_Ad and all others -
Thanks for personally expressing that you have set your values and morals to a higher standard than what we see in today's culture. This is very important in order to preserve the foundation of our country, future generations.

Wow. That comment was super rude. Well I think everyone has their own choice and that is the way it will be so long as we live in a democratic society. However, as an 18 year old I can say that I don't smoke, do drugs, drink, go to parties, have sex, burn things, cheat on tests, make fun of handicapped people or steal. Wow am I a loser and I do take a lot of crap for it. I know a lot of other people like this and know twice as many people who do those things. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to break someones nose to defend my honor so things even out. I personally think that all of humanity is trapped in a downward spiral leading to our own self destruction. I do not blame this on video games, violence, television, sugar, caffeine or anything else that people like to target as a cause. I blame it on the failure of parents to instill morals in their offspring and our own evil nature.

Uh..Who cares? What does a stupid picture with a stupid question to go with it mean to you? Is it really something to be upset about?

**Added as a response later** You didnt answer my question though. Is it really something to be upset about? Its just a dumb joke. Some people find it funny. Who are you to judge their sense of humor? ( Plus I think its kind of pointless to spend your life being insulted and offended by any little thing when you can just brush it off and move along.) And I'm all for hearing your point of view.

I'm not sure what you mean by "young". I'm 18, so I probably fit in to that category for you. I dont believe in "good" or "evil" or any man-made concepts like that. I dont buy into black and white, good or bad, with us or against us mentalities.

As far as humor goes, I couldnt care less. I dont think there should be any boundaries on that. Some of it isnt funny to me, but if it makes others laugh, hey, whatever works.

Personally I dont like hatred in any forms, and I'm repulsed by violence. Real world violence, mind you, not video game violence. There are my lines. I dont know if thatll comfort you at all, but thats what I think.

And just so you know, people have been complaining about "the younger generations" for thousands of years. Aristotle wrote in ancient Greece about how the younger generation had no respect for their elders, how they were rude, etc.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. Very little is radically different these days.

I'm young! Fifteen in fact, and I find lots of things crude and tasteless. I have chosen to do lots of things right. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I should be expected to be a bad person. It really bugs me, being a teenager, how often I'll walk in to a store or something and an employee starts glaring at me like they expect me to shoplift something just because I'm a teenager. Lots of other teenagers I know, do choose to act really tasteless and rebellious, but it's not because of their age or their hormones. It irritates me when an adult looks down on me or doesn't expect good behavior from me just because I'm at the so called "difficult" age. maybe if adults raise their standards, (It bugs me to no end when people don't expect anything of me, much more than it does by people expecting to much of me,) than teens will rise to the occasion to meet them.

Of course we have boundaries you clearly don't know any young people on a personal level. Get over yourself, stop being so judgemental and consider your own shortcomings for a change. The fact that you are so willing to condemn an entire generation is just ridiculous.

Young people need discipline and positive guidance, and all too few of them have anyone to give them these things. Kids are being forced to raise themselves and, naturally enough, they're failing.

I guess that depends on what you define as young. I am 26, and I still think nose piercings are god-awful, actually all body piercings. Women who shave their heads, people that belch without saying "excuse me", cutting in line at the grocery store, guys that wear their pants low, people that pretend they are something they are not, I could go on and on....

Things always seem hopeless. But, you just got to pull through for you and yours. In the end, it is all the same.
