It depends on the 16yr old. I would think that it may be a good idea to get one a little older and cheaper to start with. You'd hate to tear it up in a month or two and have to live with a wrecked car for another long time. If you or your parents need to impress someone then fine. It's their money. Someone said, "We value too little what we gain too easy." It might have been B. Franklin, not sure. I do know with my kids, as they were growing, the things I made them work for and buy on their own, they took better care of than the things their mother and I would give them, without them having to do anything for them. At any rate , Good luck with the car, please drive safe.

why do you need a 3.5 they are pumping out 315+hp sorry to say but a teen with that kinda power is really not nessary why not get on with a 2.3 instead they have about 215+ hp and still alot better on gas milage same car different motor and with the saved money you wouldbe able to afford a better audio video system with out breaking the bank also the insurance is a little less on the smaller motor just a nickles worth of free advise okay godd luck and happy shopping

Climb into the back seat and lie down. This is where the boys
will want you. If this is an uncomfortable thought I suggest a
different seating arrangement. Search On line for the Ural
Gear-Up Model. Tell me it won't give you the power & control.
World domination is the best game.

Yes It is a first car and you want your child to be happy. but unfortunately there are accidents. it all would depend on your teens driving skills. If there up to par I say go for it . If there still a little rusty I would wait a while maybe as a n 18th birthday present.
