I am turning 16 in 8 months and my parents are discussing me going on the pill although I am not sexually active or have a boyfriend!
They know and trust me not to be too stupid to do something too soon.
I'm not in any rush but my sister lost her virginity when she was 15 going on 16 and she thinks that they might think that I would do the same.
As well as i want to go on the pill as it will make my period alot lighter.
I if do decide to have sex then I will be carefull.
I don't wanna sound like a seagull!
Do you think I should?

Of all the stupid ideas, the pill ain't going to stop STD's and the pill is most likely to fail in under 25's, the pill use has been linked to cervical cancer etc. Root if you want but the pill aint the wonder drug that it was claimed to be in the 60's.

Wake up parents.

Going on the pill is not as dramatic as the influence it imposes. Don't be lured into a false sense of security. There are any number of STD's out there in the cruel world. If you don't feel you're mature enough or responsible enough to handle the
consequences of the act, taking the pill will not mollify what goes on in your brain.

yes but whenever you decide to have sex make sure your sex partner puts on a condom as well. The pill only protects you from getting pregnant and there are alot of Sexually Treansmitted Diseases(STD) out here that can change your life forever.

no. why would you want to put unnatural chemicals in your body when there is no need for it.
you shouldnt be having sex before your married anyway.
wouldnt you rather have the respect of your parents from them knowing that you are mature enough to not do anything stupid.
rather than them not thinking that you can be trusted. if you go on the pill then they will just think that you are probably going to do it anyway.
you dont need to give that part of yourself at such a young age.anyone who is worth having in your life wouldnt ask you to.

i think that may be naive of both you and your parents. if u are already on the pill by such a young age of 16, then you will feel its ok to have sex. especially if u have a boyfriend. 16 is too young to be a parent, as thus too young for sex. just because you will be allowed to date doesnt mean you are ready to and you and your parents shouldnt assume that you are ready to be sexually active either

No. It would not be a good advice especially from parents to put their daughter on the pill. It implies that you can have sex without the benefit of marriage. Boys will always want to have sex, as if they are conquering knights for every girl willing to and then they proudly boast it to other boys. No decent male would marry and present to his family a girls who's ******* around. Be decent and you will attract a decent guy. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

The pill will give you a false sense of security, and it won't protecto you from STDs.
Buy a bunch of condoms.
