Infants below the age of one year should not drink cow milk or goat milk. One of the main reasons why is that these milks are low in iron and differ in protein composition when compared to mother's milk.

The iron in breastmilk is highly bio-available and will cover the needs for the infant until about the age of 6 months.

Another reason that you don't want to give cow or goat milk is because of the protein. Breast milk is higher in whey and much lower in casein compared to cow and goat milks. Casein is harder to digest and might lead to internal GI bleeding which again could lead to iron deficiency.

There are also mineral differences among breastmilk, cow milk and goat milk. Goat milk, in particular, is low in the B vitamin folic acid.

Cow milk is just breast milk from a cow. All female mammals (that includes humans) produce milk to feed their offspring, and because you can't keep human women on farms to milk them 3 times a day, we use cows instead.

Different species' milks will taste different, but they will be very similar in what is in them.

they each come from a different source. possible difference is what's used to fuel the milk process. cows use grass as calories to make milk, humans use food. ??

One is full of harmful bacteria and can cause mucus production, flatulence, acne, obesity and lacks the fats babies need for brain development and the other one occurs when a baby drains the mother like a little leech.
