All Yamaha Viragos were twin cylinder.

Yes; Look at your Engine; It's a V-shape Right? means two cylinders. Cylinders mean how many pistons in laymans terms; In your case 2, Yamaha did make a 3-cylinder tho I know of. I must say that Ive been in the business long enuf to know that Virago's have problems. My shop refuses t work on that model and our local Yamaha shop won't repair them either cuz there too old?
