I'm coming home from Iraq in a few months and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on how to make it memorable. We havent seen each other for more than two weeks at a time in the last 16 months. She's been very supportive and patient through this whole ordeal and deserves something special, but as I am a love dunce I'm having a hard time thinking of anything. She's not in to big fancy jewlery (lucky me right) and we have a 1 year old wich makes long get aways dificult. If anyone could give me ideas on gifts or gestures or short vacations or ANYTHING, I would appreciate it.

considering my husband is also in iraq and due to come home in august of this year, i can understand what you're going through. so . . . coming from an army wife's standpoint - if you are focused on your wife and your homecoming, do what she would find romantic and meaningful. you know what she enjoys, so it shouldn't be that hard. usually most women like experiencing times that they can cherish, such as a trip or vacation. but if you do that, give her something such as a gift that means something to her that would remind her of you coming home. get pictures taken together celebrating your reunion home. go on a romantic picnic. discover one another as though you are dating for the first time again. bring back that fire between you two and embrace one another. and treat her as a princess. if she's the writing type, write her a love letter and present it to her by reading it aloud for her. really pour your heart to her. tell her how you feel about her. be creative in what you do, even if it's comical. but, above all else, celebrate! you are going to finally be home with your family who has missed you for so long. enjoy and good luck.
