If you look at the statistics Asian-American girls, including Koreans, often marry white American men in fairly high numbers. I believe 40%-60% marry white men, with Filipinos marry white men the most often. Many times parents, especially if they are 1st generation immigrants, would prefer their daughters marry an asian boy, but times have changed recently and they are more open.

I'm not Korean, but I've had several friends back when I lived in Hawaii that had the typical crazy Korean moms.
Yes, it's true. Some of the mothers are nuts. I'm talking "Haloween is DEVIN WORSHIP!!" nuts. Heck, my friend Melissa nearly got my mexican neighbor killed for dating her.
I think it's a family honor type thing. Usually with the military guys that went over and brought home a wife, not the ones that are born in the USA. It's culture shock.
