I was married for 20 years to a lying cheating SOB. My parents are very religious and wanted us to stay together until the kids were grown. I respected their requests.
I would never do it again. I stayed with him until my daughter was a senior in high school. When I finally got divorced, I felt like a weight was lifted from me. The black cloud on my life disappeared.
I'm remarried now and feel a lot better. I escaped a living hell also. I just attended the birthday of my 4 year old grandaughter. My ex didn't show up because my ex didn't want to face me and his ex-girlfriend (whom my kids think more of than him). She's about the age of our kids, around 23 years old. He's 47 years old. I will never regret getting divorced.
It's the best thing in the world that has ever happened to me.

You are not the only one. I escaped a living hell. I married a sociopath.
There are nice guys out there. And also marriage takes a lot of work.

i first no but after yes its was the best thing for me i am more happy and after 4years i getting marry to a great girl who only 28 years old and a virgin i am a lucky guy i got my kids full time life cant get any better thank God for divorce

At the time no it was the most horrible feeling in the world.. i felt like my life had started crumbling down around me.. but now that i look back, and knowing not only what he's done to me and our children over the years during and since, and the fact that he continues to do so even with his new wife.. im glad that he left.. he was slime then, and he's slime now..
