dont get it AT ALL!!
someone PLEASEE explain.
like i get the fact that donnie had to go back in time and die to save the world but wouldnt the sky still open up and whoever was on the plane (including the mom and sister) die??
but when donnie died, why were they alive?
lots of other confusing stuff too.
i would really just like someone to explain the whole movie for me..that would be great.

At midnight (the time the house shook) everyone was transported into a tagent universe away from the primary universe.
Donnie: Living Receiver - this person must die by the artifact (jet engine) in time before the tagent universe closes and everyone dies.
Frank and Gretchen: Manipulated Dead - because they died in the tagent universe they are able to help guide Donnie to his fate.
So in order to save the world Donnie must die by the artifact. The minute the artifact kills him the tagent universe is closed and everyone goes about their business in the primary universe. They don't remember anything that happened in the tagent universe.

He predicted his own death. He had weird premonitions that he was going to die. It manifested itself in that rabbit. Which was very freaky. I liked this movie. It was not at all what I expected.
