There are signs that you are in an abusive relationship. If you have a "feeling" he's not the guy for you, you are Right. Nip it in the bud. The earlier, the better.

Violence by either party, be it verbal or physical is totally unacceptable and does not make for a peaceful environment. One party, but preferably both, should seek third-party advice if they cannot come to some amicable agreement without the use of violence (which amounts to bullying). But the Q is HOW to prevent domestic violence? I do not believe there is a way unless one party is going to be completely subservient to the other. And that in a partnership is totally unacceptable.

unfortunately, sometimes, anger and aggression can rear their ugly heads completely unexpectedly. It can catch a victim completely off gaurd. The only way to prevent it would to give the world happy pills. But since that is impossible. We need to empower victims to have the strength to leave after the 1st incident as opposed to staying around and in essence coming back for more. Education is the only way to do that. The same way that we educate our children in school as to good touch bad touch, or prevention of STD's or even history and sociology. Teach them that history repeats itself, and if someone you are in a relationship hits you once, they have a history of hitting you, & since history repeats itself, you should realize they will hit you again. So do not come back around for it.

While it can not be 100% prevented, it can be curbed by building self esteem from the time a person is a baby, and by educating our kids, that 1 violence is wrong, hate is wrong, and that if someone treats you that way, you simply do not come back for more.

If anyone is in a situation please get help. people who are abused hide it and are ashmed for others to know. An abusive realtonship is hard if you don't get out when it first starts. They make you think that you are sorry no good and nobdy else will ever want you. brainwashed in a way. And then if you have kids you stay because you think it's best to stay together for them. To get away is very hard to do.. And anyone should get counseling. But the first step is to leave and hold your head up be proud .
