Wouldn't that make women in the west mere objects of sex by their men as often potrayed in the media as well as in their society?

In this society, the pressuue to fit in is overwhelming. When girls finally reach that age when they want to have sex, they feel that they almost have to, or else they will be an outcast, or made fun of, or rejected by men who believe that she will never have sex.
In america it is all about sex appeal man. Our whole society is based on it. It's almost heathenistic. If you are ugly, then no one likes you. Whereas if you are pretty then, eveeryone likes you. Same goes for girls sex lives. It makes me sick, but then again, I do enjoy the hell out of sex! But when you think about it, it really is primitive. Thats the only explanation i could see.
You see That?! I read a few of the answers people gave, and it's really sad. I understood your question. Whether you were serious or not.
The girls acted like they didnt even know what you were talking about, "huh?" Or just said the same old crap about savin yourself for the right guy. And the guys were just as dumb, saying that "no-one here is under pressure". What the hell? People's minds are warped so badly, that they don't even realize the crap that they themselves do!!!!!!!!!

In the west men also feel pressure to lose their virginity as a way of proving their masculinity. So both men and women feel an amount of pressure. Choosing the point in time for someone to start engaging in sexual acts should be a matter of free choice and not a decision made by others. There are non-western cultures where female virginity is not something of particular importance so its value is not universal but it varies within cultures. I agree that when a woman is pressured to loose her virginity makes her an object but the same thing happens when others pressure her to guard it with her life. She and only she should decide when and where.

It's not just females, but males too. It's not just in the west but in every westernized country. You see movies, although they portray women as sex objects, they also portray men who are virgins even as teenagers as losers and unattractive, like something must be wrong with them. Look at the crappy movie American Pie. Other movies that also give the same kind of message. In fact, women who are virgins are alright but it's the men who are being made fun of, so in this case men are the ones who suffer. Maybe it's a conspiracy between the birth condoms companies and the media big bosses so that they can get more profit.

Yes it would make them sex objects. It's sad that women in the west feel the need to dress promiscuity and walk around half naked showing their bodies off to other men. Alhamdullilah that I am a Muslim.

What about all those fundamentalist cult like groups where the girls promise not to have sex until married?

Besides that, women have always been wanted by men. Your question is very odd. The wording is not clear what you are saying or meaning.

"girls feel pressure to lose their virginity?" You say this as though this were somethign new? Girls have always been pressurd by males - this isn't a new phenomena: just watch the move "Dangerous Liasons": you will see this is hardly a problem restricted to the 20th and 21st cebturies. Young guys - then as now - are experiencing 'testosterone storm'. They learn that their penis is useful for more than just 'pee-pee'. This happens at the same time they typically loose most, if not all, functioning in the neo-cortex. They grow out of it eventually.

The media and ourselves we are a reflection of each other Britney spears, Paris Hilton, Lohan, WWE divas. All these people have influence over teen girls who are trying to develop who they are and they look for women who are "successful".

A good question. Because I guess men want whores so the other girls who aren't are trying to compete with them. And we are exposed to sex everywhere. It is even starting to show up in kids movies.
