I can't remember the artist who sang it but I do know she's a female and her name begins with an A and her second name a B.

The song she sings is Close To You. It should be an old song.

Can anyone help me out?

Yea, I think Im looking for the remake. Not the original. Like I said, the singer had a name that started with an A.. not sure after that.

Karen Carpenter sang (They Long To Be) Close To You, and their are other songs of the same title. The only one I know is sung by Frank Sinatra. The singer I know with the name that starts with an 'a' is Anita Baker, but she never sang any song entitled Close to You as far as I can recall.

List of female rock singers with A/B Names:

Alice Bag (The Bags, Castration Squad)
Adele Bertei (The Bloods, Contortion, Bush Tetras)
Anna Burley (The Killjoys)
Ann Boleyn (Hellion)
Adena Brumer (Aesma Daeva)

You're way off. That's Karen Carpenter. I don't recall Anita Baker ever doing a cover of that piece.
