Multiprocessing is running more than one process at a time on a single processor, such as Windows does. Parallel processing is having two or more processors working together to complete a task.

Parallel processing requires software to split the processes and keep track of each of them. Those processors can also be multiprocessing at the same time (doing different things), while they are splitting those processes across each processor.
