if its to your husband then ever thought about not announcing it at all? maybe he'll think you are getting fat.

I just recently found out that I'm pregnant, so I started calling everyone what the baby would when it gets here. for example. I called my mom "grandma" and she picked up on it right away!! And my fiance "daddy", my sis "aunty". You see the expressions on there face right away!!! Good Luck and I think it's a great idea to do announce pregnancy in creative ways. I haven't told my grandma, but I plan to give her a card with an ultra sound picture in it! That should make her day!! :)

I love this one.
If you have your mother's birthday coming up or some kind of event where it would be feasible to give a gift.
Then inside the package would be a shirt or item that says grandma on it.
They quickly realize the meaning behind it.
Around easter time, visit the family. Make both of them their own little easter basket with candies and a couple of colored eggs that say "grandma" and "grandpa" on them.
Have Chinese food one night. Purchase fortune cookies earlier and use tweezers to pull the fortunes out, then inserte your own! Type up messages such as, "Confucius says you will be an uncle." and so forth.
Take the family out to eat. Create a special menu to insert into the real menu. Arrive early to make sure the hostesses can handle the request. The menu indicates "today's specials" and list several of the typical specials, then at the bottom put, "Baby available in [month], tiny fingers and tiny toes, courtesy of [insert your names here]......Priceless"
It'll be a blast!

Announce a pregnancy to who? Your family and friends? Or your boyfriend? If its like a general announcement to family and friends I would send them favors in little baby bottles or something. Or on your answering machine say something like, You've reached blah blah blah and then the baby's name or make a reference to a baby, so when people call you they will find out.

-- That's what my sister and brother-in-law did to announce their pregnancy. They typed "Carrigan Elisabeth or Carter Ethan due June 8th, 2006" on the slips. It was way cute.

When my daughter-in-law & son wanted to tell me they were expecting...they got me 2 baby bottles filled with candy - 1 pink & 1 blue...
this was a great surprise cuz I just thought they were giving me the candy & that is the way it came...except for the Ultrasound picture on the outside....
I would never have known...
NOW I have 6 Grand-sons..!!! And the new one is due June 18th,,,

when the whole family is together make a big deal about taking a family picture. have the hubby/whoever is in on it at the camera, you in the middle of the picture. situate everyone so it makes for a good picture, but really use the record function (on any digital camera). have the cameraman count down to the picture "1 - 2 - 3 - smile! (insert name)'s pregnant!"
its be hilarious to play back :)

We went to www.specialeventticketing.com and had pregnacy announcement concert tickets made up! (Type preg in the search bar for samples!)
They were very helpful and it will be an excellent way to tell our friends about our upcoming event!

Have everyone over that you want to know. Have a party but dont tell anyone what its for and put together some random games or play board games. And the play like telephone and tell them or like Cherades [or how ever you spell it].Be creative.

I was going to buy some baby booties and a bib that says "I love Daddy" or something. Wrap them up and give it to him when he gets home from work.
