Boise State is highly underrated. They play division 1 football just like the other big schools do. They beat everyone on their schedule and won their bowl game. By the way luck had nothing to do with them beating OU, every coach has trick plays and they use them when they feel they need to and because OUs d was fast they had to use a lot of misdirection to confuse them. Y'all know if they would have lost all the media and sports writers would say how boise state didnt belong or whatever. They don't play big time schools in non conference because the big schools know that boise state could beat them. Jared Zabransky was a freshman when they got hammered by georgia so cut him some slack. They are underrated and if this doesnt call for a playoff then what else has to happen?

No. They're rated just right. Oklahoma was a good team but, hardly on the level of SC, LSU, Florida, or OSU. None of those teams would have struggled with Oklahoma like Boise did. Remember, OU was beaten handily by Texas and lost to a middle of the road Pac 10 team in Oregon (I know, I know, the bad replay call. If you're a top tier team, Oregon is not close enough for an onside kick to matter.) Great bowl game, nice win, but their final ranking was more than fair.

I would say they were overrated last year. Those trick plays they used have a low probability of being successful. All three worked....Luck! They stayed close enough with Oklahoma to get lucky and win. They were a good team, just not as good as many made them out to be after that very enternaining bowl win. They even got a first place vote by one AP voter trying to make a point about their finishing undefeated. That was definitely overrating them.

They're not overrated, going undefeated and beating Bob Stoops and Oklahomo in a bowl game isn't so easy to do. However, I do believe they got incredibly lucky in that game, comparable to alot of lower seeds in the NCAA Tournament getting lucky for ONE game. This is why college football needs to adopt a playoff system. I realize it would lengthen the season substantially, but I go to a I-AA school, and we manage to fit it in somehow...
I don't think they're underrated either. Like I said, going undefeated is a great season no matter who you played. If I'm not mistaken, they were the only undefeated team in Division I last year. So no, they're right where they should have been.

No. As to being undefeated they weren't playing the big boys. Sure they did good and played their level. Their level though is mid-major. That isn't as impressive as some may think. Come on they had to convert 2 4th downs and end up in a DOUBLE OT where they pulled off a two point conversion to beat a BIG NAME. They wouldn't have had that luck to get through a whole year if they played with the Big Boys.

definitely so...!! i mean i'm not a big fan of Boise state but i mean its probably the fact that their state doesn't have a team in the NFL and that their just up there by themselves yet their making all this success.....I don't think anyone was expecting them to make it to the Fiesta Bowl and WIN it....of course it was theirs even before the game started (cough* sooners suck cough*)

Considering they play no one, is tough for them to be. But the two actual games they play each year, they usually win. So they are a good team, but their lack of competition makes them hard to evaluate. Sure they'll win 10 games, but that doesn't mean there better than a 9 win SEC team.

I would go with overrated, given the very weak schedule they played. They would have been lucky to go 9-4 in a BCS conference.

you play in a conference where most teams that travel arent competitive with other conferences, you have a very weak non-conference schedule...you play good from year to year, of course you are going to be rated lower than teams in tougher conferences...I must admit, their last bowl game was pretty entertaining

No not at all,but they should improve their recruiting after last season, this is where you find out how good the coach is at scouting and recruiting he has a real good opportunity to turn it into a perennial program
