Information Communication Technology
I have to write the S & P implications of Mobile Phones, Computers, PDA's, MP3's etc. and most other I.C.T.
Help with any of these (not just a link to a page filled with an overload of information) would be really helpful :)

Well, here are some starting ideas:
1) Personal computing and the internet has made privacy an issue. Public records contained lots of sensitive information about individuals, but because it required a lot of effort and sometimes fees to get those documents, the personal information wasn't mined very much.
2) The technology divide is making a bigger gap between rich and poor. Rich have information and computing power at their fingertips. Poor are lucky if they have occasional access at library or school.
3) Mobile phones are linking the Third World. It is easier to get a satelite phone in some parts of the world than to get a land line. Content delivered via phone screens is expected to become PC of the poor. (Will help close tech gap.)
4) Mobile phones have made instantaneous acces normal. Employers have employees on electronic leashes. Employees are doing more work on their personal and vacation time than they used to. (Benefit to sole proprietors of small businesses is that ICT allows now them to leave the premises. Before, they were chained to their store.)
5) ICT has reduced interpersonal (face-to-face) communications. People find it easy now to toss email or text messages rather than have an uncomfortable conversation.
