The raiders need to draft JaMarcus Russell. I think this kid is the truth. Sure they need to build the offensive line but they can get lineman in free agency. The Raiders need a player to pack the seats and this kid will do that. Lane Kiffin's offense is a great offense I think even a head case like Randy Moss would love this offense and I think Jerry Porter the other head case will love it everybody will get to catch the ball it's a spread offense that will keep teams off balance. Al if your smart draft this kid.

hes 6,6 with cannon arms you must be stupid not to draft this guy with the 1st pick...even though the raiders are known to usually draft defensive linemen he is a must!

Finally Al Davis realizes that the Raiders are in need of a strong-armed quarterback. He will get his wish when his team selects JaMarcus Russell of LSU. His cannon arm and playmaking ability has earned him the rating of best pick in the draft. He will be a good fit for the Raiders as they have the receivers that can run down the field and go get the ball. As you state, the Raiders should concentrate on free agents to select the offensive linemen. There is only one lineman in the draft that is a top 5 pick and that is Joe Thomas of Wisconsin. But since the Raiders DO need a quarterback, they should select the best one available. Russell is far and away the best QB in the draft. Brady Quinn isn't even rated in the top 20 picks! I agree with you 100 % when you say "Al, if your smart draft this kid." He is indeed the real deal and someone to build a team around.

If I'm the raiders I try & trade down in the top 10 and pick up another pick. They have so many needs, OL, RB, WR ... they have no strenth on the offensive side of the ball. Brady Q is falling bcause of 1 game! He could be there around 10ish. Problem is who is the trading partner? Would have to find someone really enamoured with Russell

So that they will continue to still be one of the Worst Teams and Biggest Jokes in the NFL.....This Guys showed up at the Indy Combine OVERWEIGHT......Can someone say "LenDale White"?
If you want a "safe" QB, take Brady Quinn of Notre Dame....Brady Quinn's agent told him to NOT do the Bench Press at the Combine....He did it anyway and did 24 Reps while JaMarcus Russell was probably eating Twinkies....
At least he won't come to Training Camp OVERWEIGHT....

As a Raider Fan, wether its Russell or Quinn im fine with it. But who will we be gettin to start for us? I really havent seen much tape on Russell, but I've been hearing alot of good things about him that could help our future explosive offense.

by releasing Brooks, they've just made the room they need...they will draft the kid from LSU...but he will not start right away, Davis has never started a rookie QB and if they pay him number 1 draft money they will not take a chance on ruining him by throwing him to the wolves...the pro game moves much faster and he will need time to acclimate
