Cut out the torn spot and replace it with a piece from behind the fridge.

depends, if it can go back together without showing much, you can simply get a high strength but flexible glue and glue it back down. if the material is damaged or missing, the only thing you can try is to patch it with a bit from someplace that is not normally seen. make sure to match the pattern if any. cut a piece larger than what you need. put it over the tear, and cut both layers at the same time. this assures a good fit. then glue it down with...oh contact cement should work. even that is only a temporary fix. if it is in a high traffic area, it won't last long.

cover it with a rug. this works every time.
