its terrible that people are just handing out answers without giving step by step instructions so young people can learn math.
There is an old saying "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day...but teach that man how to fish, and you'll feed him for a lifetime" teach the kids people dont just hand out answers.

A lot of what you guys say is true it's just unfortunate. When I was going to college I was one of those students who had to help out the other students cause the teachers go so fast, and who can't keep up get left behind.
Some may say it's up to parents but some parents didn't even finish 9 grade high school so how can they help their own kids? They count on teachers cause they got no choice...so teachers got their work cut out for them.
Some want to get on with education? What is education? Getting a Bachelors degree by have not a nick of "know how" then stealing a job promotion from someone who been doing it for 15 years, you get paid more than them and you don't know **** about working in the real world.
I'm just saying through this internet age with people willing to give answers and in essence "teach" why not teach the kids how to fish.

I love that saying, and I agree with you. People just want to learn things quickly so they can get on with their lives...

There was another great saying.

"I don't let schooling get in the way of my education."

I think that, this is where some people are just being lazy, while others are just trying to see if they have the correct answer

i would like to see from these people say in their question - I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO GET AN ANSWER- CAN YOU HELP? OR - I HAVE A BIG TEST, ETC TEACHER GOES TO FAST - AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK-

In other words... I got this for an answer- this is the way I got it - is it right? and ask the "answerers" to restrain from totally giving an answer right away...

sorry for the ramble-- but I agree- and there are soooo many different ways to get an answer (styles of teaching) NO ONE IS really helping -JUST BY ANSWERING...

thanks and great point brought up!

Now a days we can't except every thing to be told by teachers so its
we who have to explain the kids and make them learn in a step by step way so that they don't do the mistakes that others have done

You're preachin' to the choir. I taught college level math for many years. Until I could no longer tolerate what was coming out of our schools and what I was expected to find some way to 'squeeze through' the courses.

It's a fµckin' joke. They don't need to know anything about math to 'get through' most classes. All they need to do is be able to memorize and regurgitate a few answers.

Don't you understand what 'modern' mathematics is all about?

Why is it our responsibilty to teach these little monsters, isn't that what parents are paying tax dollars for, to feed the teacher? That is what the teacher is there for, and if the kid has to ask the general public, then the teacher is not doing his/her job, or the kid is scared of the teacher, either way, we're in trouble.
