To me, this question seems more of a sarcastic nature. It is also a novel way of highlighting issues that plague our country. Population is the biggest hurdle to our development. While resources are limited, the growing population trend demands more of every thing for sustainance. At one time we believed that spread of education will bring awariness to this problem. Though partly it has brought us some results, still there is a long way to go. The irony is that people at the helm of affairs give scant regards to this problem. Some of the politicians who occupy important positions and make rules for the country have large number of children. They preach one thing and practise just the opposite. Similarly some highly educated and highly placed persons have paid only lip service to this problem. The country is not in a position to cater to the educational and health needs of such a mammoth population. This is the sole reason of poverty that puts our country below the level of desired development though we are far ahead in having rich natural resources. Unless serious and sincere efforts are made to control population we are certain to further lag behind other developed and developing countries.

Therefore the other development in India is poverty.
Thank you my friend for cleverly raising this issue. Regards and blessings........Dr Biswambhar Dash.
