A man's silence is wonderful to listen to.

As a musician, I have learned the value of silence.

If you listen closely to good music, you'll be suprised at how many silences (rests) there are. I think without those, the rest of the music would mean much less, because it would just all blur together. The silence provides seperation between important ideas, it provides the audience a chance to absorb what they just heard and becomes just as much a part of the music as the "sound" part of music.

I have always had really bad tinnitus, ever since I was a little kid. I wish that I could truly be in complete silence, although as a musician I must point out that most of the time that you think you are in complete silence you are probably not. Houses make noise, pets make noise, neighbors make noise, cars, etc...

But no,silence does not bother me. It is as necessary to us as noise and sound.

sometimes I hear kind of a high pitched loud ring sort of sound in "silence". I also sleep with the tv on, in completely silence I think and in certain situations thinking too much can be bad, like when you are trying to sleep, or when you are some place you could find scary.

It is a bit strange to have complete silence and it does seem to not hurt but sense of tighten, ringing and I can hear my heart beat... but this goes away after a bit and I get use to it. Then I do like the silence.

No, because I like complete silence because of the soft vibrates and air flowing against your ears.

I suffer from tinnitus, so there is no such thing as silence. Actually, I don't really suffer. It just won't stop ringing, so I keep a radio on a weak channel. White noise cancels out the ringing.

I can't stand the sound of silence because it makes my tinnitus seem that much louder!
