hi, am having problems with writing out electron configuration it's soo frustrating! Would appreciate it if anyone could give me some tips.... as in step-by-step tips! i'm mainly just not understanding the whole letters thing !with the s and the p and then there's the d!
Any help woudl be really appreciated:) or even if anyone can give me the link to a website to help with this?

s can hold 2 e-
p can hold 6 e-
d can hold 10 e-
f can hold 14 e-
aufbau principle - start at 1s every time
Carbon = 6 e-
1s2, 2s2, 2p2 = 6
Chlorine = 17 e-
1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2, 3p5 = 17
