I know this might sound silly -
But I am on MySpace a lot, and have sold a few items on eBay and Craigslist. I used to give out my mobile number to anyone who *seemed OK, just chatting with me on IM and so on.

Lately, there is a lot of talk on identity theft, and I am concerned now. Who is your most recommended vendor of anonymous phone numbers these days ??

I wouldn't give my phone number to anyone I didn't know. Or any other private info for that matter. Identity theft is a huge and lucrative business.
But listen, I seem like a nice guy... let's talk about that credit card number...
just kidding!

I am just going to tell you that there is no way to protect your identity. The only thing you can do is have it monitored and if something happens they willalert you. Why do I know? I represent a company that does this and I the membership. I get alerts if something hits my credit , right away, and I get alerts if nothing is happening.

ebay is pretty safe to say that its safe. However, in today's society anyone can hack in anywhere and see what you are doing, you're never safe online honestly. My uncle works for the government in the "hacking department", and he frightened me one day by hacking into my messenger and reading me my conversations, to show me that anything is possible!
