ok so me and my buddy decided to do a little street racing tonite (i just got home) and me personally im not very autosmart...well anyway he has a 2003 mustang with a supercharger on it...(5 speed manual) and well i was driving and i shifted into 2nd at 4800 RPMS then into third at 4000RPMS then downshifted back into 2nd and redlined it then back into third and i look at the speedometer and im going 90 so i shift into 4th and the clutch smoked a little...well shortly after the clutch began to vibrate...like the pedal...and it only does it in neutral...i was wondering...is this normal? i mean its not BAD but it is noticable...and it only does it in neutral when the car is stopped...i was wondering what the problem is and how it can be fixed...

I'm sure this is not the first time for racing. Continual abuse of the clutch assembly will cause heat checks in the flywheel that will eventually lead to flywheel failure "explosion." The vibration is caused by flywheel imbalance. Replace clutch and flywheel.

For starters you might try cannig the street racing it is a sure way to burn up your clutch and pressure plate. Happy fixing of this expensive and big mistake.

sounds like you warped the clutch and maybe the flywheel.. i personally would recomend a hayes clutch and pressure plate and throw-out bearing .. they will handle the pressure,no pun intended they are a bit costly but well worth the bucks .. and while you have it apart get the flywheel reground....

did you try holding the clutch in while it was in neutral?if it quits then it must be the clutch got burnt,or the tranny itself.
