it took me exactly a year, to the exact month, and then i concieved at the next month, it can be tricky because everyone is different, my friends wore off in 4 mo and ended up pregnant, so be careful, it seems to make you fertile.

I was on the depo shot for almost 4 years and once i stopped taking it (when i was due for another shot) my period came that next month and then i was pregnant 11 months later.

Depo-Provera is not a good choice if you want to be pregnant in the next year or two. Why? Because it typically takes 9 to 10 months to become pregnant after you stop taking Depo-Provera as a contraceptive. It could even take up to 24 months after discontinuing use of Depo-Provera for you to become pregnant. The length of time you use Depo-Provera has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant.

I took DEPO for 4 years also. It took 6 years for me to get pregnant. It replaced into purely after being clinically determined with PCOS and getting on the drug metformin that I became pregnant. I blame fairly some that on the dep.. i advise the e book Taking fee of Your Fertility. that is going to a minimum of tutor you to entice close your individual cycles so that you'll figure out if you're ovulating. There are also some sturdy loose web content the position you could music your cycles on-line as well. i might want to point charting for some months (3 or 4 a minimum of) and then taking that data on your Ob-Gyn. sturdy luck!

It took me three months to get my period back. It has been a year since my first period after stopping depo-provera and my periods are still very irregular. I was recently diagnose with PCOS. The RE told me it doesn't have anything to do with the depo-provera.

This probably won't be reassuring, but it's honest. Once I stopped taking depo shots, it took me 6mos. to a year before my periods were normal again. I know several women who have taken depo, and all have had problems getting back to "normal" or conceiving afterwards. With a good "average" from all I know, and ob advice, it may take a good year. Hang in there!

A friend of mine stopped depo and went on a hormonal balancing diet, it took her a year or so to get back on track.

It took me about 9 months to actually get my period back and then about another 6 months to where it was normal again. Be patient. I have learned that since I was on it.
