The answer is yes.

However, I cannot resist the opportunity to share a favorite joke.

Two guys are out camping in the deep wilderness, they set up camp for the night on the edge of a picturesque meadow. Tent is up, they start a fire, take off their shoes, kick back with a beer. Suddenly they hear a loud noise in the forest on the far side of the meadow and an angry grizzly bursts out. As the angry bear spots the campers one takes off running. The other starts to put on his shoes.

The first camper pauses long enough to yell "What are you doing?!? We can't outrun the bear, shoes or no shoes!"

The second camper replies "I don't have to outrun the bear, I have to outrun you..."

Yes, probably because they are more powerful and have twice as many legs (and a longer stride).

There may be some athletic humans that can outrun a bear though, but maybe not when it's hungry.

In short bursts up to 30 mph, yes!

When you see it it will stun you. And hopefully you are not the object of his/her displeasure.
I like Golden Smile's answer. The joke here in Alaska is all you need in the woods is a .22 to protect yourself. You just shoot your buddy in the leg with it and run for the truck!

i can normally beat human since it has two more legs. but it depends on the slope. if it is chasing u down the slope then u are better winner since the long hairs of it get to its eye so it is unable to see u and u are the winner. but dont dare to climb slope when bear is chasing u the long hairs get backward and lo it can see u and u are gone. this is true.

I think I don't want to try it, ever. I figure I'd be bear poo in a couple days, after I tried.
