I need to buy my first suit but would like to invest in one I can wear year-round. What is the best suit fabric for hot weather (specifically, the DFW area of Texas) that will still hold up in winter?

No suit for hot weather will favor you in cold weather, you are asking too much. But to make some equilibrium here, if you find it, buy the light gray suit made of a mix of linen and some artificial fiber.
It would be better to buy a basic suit for hot weather, made of cotton or linen, or this two mixed, in a very light color, and get the dark black wool mix suit for winter. If you buy these in a classic cut, they will serve you for years.

i think linen suits are hot on guys.. cuz u dont see a lot of guys tryin them out. espesh white/cream linen suits. but if u want it to hold in winter.. cotton suits will do. There are also some cotton suits that are actually wrinkle-resistant!

I know this sounds ghetto or Miami Vice-ish...but try linen...its very comfy and very breathable. The only thing is it can easily wrinkle where you sit...
