When you stay overnight in a hospital?

Cell phone so I can call and ask my wife to bring anything I might have forgotten. (Since they don't always give you a phone or they charge you $5/minute to make calls.)
(I assume you're not suggesting we can only bring one item, because then I'd change my answer to underwear.)

unfortunately just my insurance card and some ID. that is all I really need, and maybe a marker to tell them which place to cut. If I was having surgery on my leg I would right on my leg cut this one, and the word NO on the other leg.

Robe, warm fuzzy socks to keep u'r feet warm, tooth brush, hair brush. Something to help the "bed head" you'll have going on.
