About twice as many countries (and, potentially, twice as many people) drive on the right as drive on the left. (66% to 34%).

Definitely on the right hand side of the road. With the exception of the UK (it's former/present colonies too), Japan, and Pakistan, just about every large country drives on the right hand side. Colonized African countries and a lot of islands make up most of the list for driving on the left side of the road... aside from the UK, Japan, and Pakistan, there aren't many other large countries on the list... ooh... i suppose india would be left hand too. Nevertheless... right hand side definitely outnumbers the left.

Since the US has the highest number of drivers of any country, I'd say more people drive on the right side of the road.

As far as countries go it is about even. However because of the difference in vehicle numbers per head of population the left hand drive may be the greater number. The only reason for the difference is Napoleonic where Napoleon marched his armies on the wrong side of the road to confuse the enemy.
