Best Actor - Forrest Whitaker
I loved this film and although I would choose DiCapprio based on both films he did last year, I believe it will go to Whitaker for taking such a dramatic turn from his normal roles and doing a great job.
Best Supporting Actor - Eddie Murphy
Again, a fantastic performance from someone who broke out of his own mold and although I would love to see Alan Arking win it I believe Murphy will be the winner.
Best Director - Martin Scorsese
Without a doubt he deserves this award based solely on the films merits (leave out the whole never won thing). I think he will win because he did the best job of keeping a film tight and interesting that easily could have gotten out of hand with so many stars and plot twists.

Forest Whitaker "Last King of Scotland" for Best Actor
Helen Mirram "The Queen" for Best Actress
Jennifer Hudson "DreamGirls" for Best Supporting Actress
Alan Arkin "Little Miss Sunshine" for Best Supporting Actor
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu "Babel" for Best Director
The only category I'm stumped with, is Best Picture. I have two choices for this one, Babel and The Queen. Although, Scorsese did do an amazing job on The Departed. Anyway you put it, I can't wait till Oscar night, it should be a good one this year!

Brad Pitt will win in Babel for best actor, likewise with Kate Blanchett for the same movie, The Departed will win best screenplay and that will also be movie of the year

Departed will win best screen play? Didn't that have alot of derogatory & politically incorrect conversations. Leonardo D-Caprio may win for that role? Hmm. My husband asked me to rent that movie. I only saw the very beginning & didn't finish watching the rest. Maybe shoulda, could have got better & understood his character if I finished listening & watching.
