is san diego state hard to get into?

From what I've heard, it's one of the tougher Cal States, which are in general easier than UCs. My friend, who had a 3.3, 1100 SAT or so (on the old scale, out of 1600), and lots of activities got in fine.

Here is what I could find for general admissions statistics:

Average high school GPA for admitted freshmen: 3.5
***This is kind of high.

Average SAT scores for admitted freshmen: 527 verbal, 547 math
***This is pretty average.

They accepted 44% of those who applied.
***It would be interesting to see how this compares to other CSUs. I know compared to UCLA and Berkeley, this is a really high acceptance rate. Compared to other schools, I don't know.
