What would our culture be like, if there was no diversity? Would it remain European? What about American music and American English?

Cultural diversity is great but exposes the weaknesses of our biases. I enjoy diversity but hate it when I am subject to predjudices and criminal attacks by people who are not similar to me. I see divisions within certain races and cultures not only dissimilar cultures. Divisions in clawing into society and cultures competing within themselves and creating destruction of diversity fighting for their share of the big pie. Grab, grab, grab. No one cares about anyone really when they are not safe within and without their own culture and interacting with different ones. A ball of confusion, intolerance, distrust, hatred, predjudice and lack of a common thread which can be diminished because of misuse of diversity as it was meant to be approached. Crime and drugs are destroying diversity and cultural advances more than anything else.

I can't believe the audacity of some of these posts. My apologies if what I say seems rude. But, it seems to me that the way some of you are thinking is what the problem is. "White Man".??. That seems prejudice to me. "The whites want everyone here, yet refuse to let go of control in any way", what exactly is that supposed to mean and how is that in anyway true? The "whites" (as you put it) have no more control over anything than any other race does. Also, the other comment that said "white people are mad at everybody without reason", that seems extremely prejudice to me. That statement is judging "white people" just the way you say whites are judging everyone else. All people of all races should be equal. When you have some people from every race saying they're being discriminated against, there's always going to be a problem. It would be nice if not only people in the U.S., but people everywhere could accept each other and "get along" but with attitudes like these that seems like an improbable outcome.

Multiculturalism combined with the arrogant "white man" is a recipe for disaster as it is proving to be at this point and time.

The whites want everyone here, yet refuse to let go of control in any way.

All I know is that I like tacos, spaghetti, and chinese food... If it weren't for multiculturalism...we would't have any of these.

white people are mad at everybody, without reason..just mad.the rich ones are mad because they are encouraged to help others, the poor ones are mad because they have to live near minorities and middle class is mad because they don't know which way to go.
